I do not subscribe to the stack ranking approaches to “performance management”.

Hell, I do not subscribe to thinking that “performance management” helps in any way.

I have seen too many “high performers” get others to flip the mental switch in others that they can do no wrong. They set others up (either intentionally or not) and make the people who aren’t well liked be the baddie. It’s all just like high school. This is stupid.

Remember the saying “a bad system will defeat a good employee every time”?

This is exactly what causes it.
